The Ping Gai Shi Piao (平盖石瓢) is a refined take on the classic Shi Piao shape. Its flattened lid creates a smoother silhouette and better seal while keeping the triangular body stable and balanced. Wide base allows tea leaves to circulate freely and the straight spout delivers a crisp pour. Many tea lovers appreciate how this shape brings quiet focus to each infusion, turning brewing into a calm daily ritual.
Half-handmade from Red Jiang Po Ni (红降坡泥), a variant of Duan Ni clay accidentally discovered in the early 1990s during road construction on the slope between Huanglong and Qinglong mountains (“downhill mud”). This iron-rich blend of purple, red and Duan Ni clays fires to a deep warm red-brown with striking colorful star flecks, evoking a starry sky or textured pear skin in a warm glow. High porosity seasons the pot fast, softens harshness, and enhances sweetness, aroma, and body. Best for oolong, black tea and shou pu-erh.
