Fang Gu is a classic style in Yixing teapots, taking inspiration from the shape of historical war drums. Its design features a compressed spherical body with a pronounced belly, ensuring both structural stability and visual balance.
This teapot is half handmade from Zhu Ni, a red clay challenging to fire due to a shrinkage rate around 20%. This process results in a dense, glass-smooth texture that provides improved heat retention and subtly enhances the tea's flavor profile.
About the Engraving
The teapot’s surface is hand-engraved with the inscription "秋枫" (autumn maple), which harmonizes with the reddish hue of the Zhu Ni clay.
