The Dragon Egg Yixing Teapot has a smooth, plump ovoid body that feels comfortable in the hand, providing a simple and clean look. It offers good room inside for tea leaves to expand, thick walls to hold heat evenly, and a short straight spout for a steady pour. This makes it a practical choice for Gong Fu sessions alone or with a friend.
Half-handcrafted from Zhong Cao Qing Zi Ni (中槽清紫泥), a mid-layer purple clay from Huanglong Mountain with dense texture and high iron content. After firing twice at 1178°C, the teapot shows a purple-brown tone with subtle mineral flecks and strong breathability. The clay softens bitterness quickly, adds body and sweetness to tea. It works well with oolong, pu-erh, black tea and roasted varieties, seasoning to a soft shine over time.
