This Chuan Lu Yixing Teapot is crafted by Lin Yuandeng, an artisan highly skilled in making square and hexagonal teapots. The saying "一方抵三圆" (One square teapot equals the effort of making three round ones) reflects the difficulty of crafting structured teapots compared to round ones, as precise angles, symmetry, and lid fit require exceptional skill.
Made from Huanglong Mountain Shui Tan Lv Ni, a rare green clay found between layers of other Yixing clays, this teapot showcases both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Compared to more common Zi Ni or Hong Ni, Lv Ni is far less available, and its fine-grain texture enhances tea absorption, aging potential, and gradual flavor enhancement over time.
