Xi Shi is a classic style of Yixing teapot, defined by its simple, spherical body. This form offers excellent heat retention and ensures a powerful and controlled pour from its short spout.
This teapot is half-handmade from Zi Ni (purple clay), a clay renowned for its balanced performance. After firing, it develops a moderately porous structure, making it exceptionally versatile for elevating the character of all tea types.
About the Engraving
The teapot is hand-engraved with plum blossoms and the inscription "滌塵" (涤尘), meaning "cleansing the dust." This echoes a Chinese slang term for tea, "涤烦子" (the washer of worries). Together, these concepts reflect tea's enduring essence as a medium for stress relief and calming.
