2025 Yunnan Phoenix Mountain Organic Green Tea

Phoenix Mountain (Fenghuangshan) lies in Nanjian Yi Autonomous County, Dali, at the northern edge of the Wuliang Mountain National Nature Reserve. This high-elevation tea region sits around 2,380 meters above sea level and has a long history of tea cultivation dating back over a thousand years, historically aligned with ancient tea-horse trade routes.

Yunshui Guniang Phoenix Mountain Organic Tea Estate traces its origins to a state-run collective tea farm established in 1955. Today, the estate manages over 1,400 mu of forested tea land, including certified organic terrace gardens and wild, naturally regenerated old-tree areas. The gardens are fully organically certified and managed under wild-growing principles.

The region’s cool average temperature (around 18°C), abundant cloud cover, large diurnal temperature swings, mineral-rich soils, and intact forest ecology create ideal conditions for slow leaf growth and high aromatic concentration, resulting in teas known for clarity, sweetness, and layered structure.

This organic green tea is crafted from one bud with two to three leaves, pan-fired to halt oxidation, then rolled and gently dried. The liquor is bright and clear with a fresh green hue, offering lifted bean-like aromatics, a clean vegetal sweetness, and a thick, lingering huigan that reflects the strength and clarity of Phoenix Mountain’s high-altitude terroir.
