This Tangerine Tibetan Tea is a recent innovation that embeds the robust character of Tibetan tea within the vibrant zest of tangerine from Meijiang, a region celebrated for producing the highest quality chenpi (sun-dried tangerine peel).
This unique combination draws inspiration from XiaoQingGan, traditionally made with Shu Pu’er, employing a similar technique but with Tibetan tea as the core. Additionally, the customized filling contains chenpi slices, which XiaoQingGan does not have.
The creation process began with a dedicated pursuit in Xinhui County for the perfect green tangerines, an endeavor led by our founder, Vincent, and the esteemed tea producer in July 2023. The choice of premium tangerines and the traditional sun-drying processing method offer a refreshing citrus twist to the rich, fermented notes of Tibetan tea.
This tea's uniqueness lies in its blend and the intricate processing technique that marries the tea with tangerine peel and chenpi slices, allowing the three to age together and infuse the tea with a subtle, yet distinct, citrus flavor. This innovative process not only enhances the tea's aroma and taste but also introduces tea enthusiasts to chenpi, a traditional Chinese medicine renowned for its various health benefits.
