Wuliangshan is a well-known mountain in Nanjian Yi Autonomous County, famous not only for its tea production but also as a popular sightseeing destination. One of its highlights is the Cherry Blossom Valley, a breathtaking site that attracts numerous visitors each year.
This tea is grown near the Cherry Blossom Valley, where tea trees were planted a few decades ago using the Yun Kang No. 10 cultivar. This cultivar was selectively bred by the Yunnan Province Academy of Agricultural Sciences Institute of Tea from tea trees originally found in Nannuoshan.
Recognized as a national-level cultivar in 1987, Yun Kang No. 10 is one of only five cultivars in Yunnan to receive this distinction. The tea is harvested primarily from the first harvest of spring, following the one bud, two leaves picking standard.
