This 2013 Mangfei Da Shu Sheng Pu'er comes from Mangfei village, a renowned tea-producing region in Yongde County, Lincang. Situated at an elevation of 1380 to 1650 meters, Mangfei is recognized as one of the origins of ancient tea trees and boasts a well-preserved natural environment. The area is home to nearly 500 acres of tea forests, with many trees exceeding 100 years in age. The local cultivar, Mangfei Da Ye Zhong, is a large-leaf variety known for producing Pu'er teas with rich depth and aging potential.
Harvested in spring 2013 from Dashu (big trees) over 100 years old, this tea has been carefully stored in Chengdu, Sichuan for over a decade. Unlike compressed cakes, the loose leaf form allows for greater airflow, leading to faster transformation and aging. As a result, the tea has softened and deepened in character, developing a smooth, rich texture and layered complexity.
Over time, the tea has evolved into a well-balanced Sheng Pu'er with a sweet, floral aroma and an underlying mineral and woody depth. It carries a lingering Hui Gan (returning sweetness) and a refined Cha Qi (energy), making it a satisfying tea for both casual and experienced drinkers. Whether enjoyed now or further aged, this Mangfei Dashu Pu'er is a wonderful example of Lincang’s storied tea heritage.
