Bulang Arbor King is meticulously crafted from early spring first flush leaves of large arbor trees growing in the northeastern reaches of Bulang Mountains near Pasha Village. While Bulang-region Sheng Pu’er is often known for its bold intensity, with Lao Ban Zhang as the most well-known example, this tea presents a softer and more approachable profile.
Unlike its more assertive counterparts, Bulang Arbor King offers a full-bodied experience with abundant floral notes and a smooth, lingering Huigan (回甘, returning sweetness). The balance of light initial bitterness and astringency evolving into a sweet and refreshing aftertaste makes it an excellent choice for both experienced Pu’er drinkers and those exploring Bulang teas for the first time.
This tea is part of a five-product vintage series from 2009, 2012, 2014, 2018, and 2020, each matured in Chengdu’s storage environment under consistent conditions. While they share the same origin, picking standard, and processing technique, each vintage reflects its own stage of aging and transformation.
