This Tai Ping Hou Kui, harvested in April 2024, comes from Yanjia Village, the heart of Hou Keng, in Huangshan, Anhui Province—the most renowned core-producing region for this legendary tea. Grown in a misty, high-humidity environment with rich soil, this tea represents the finest expression of Tai Ping Hou Kui’s unique characteristics.
Crafted with precision, this hand-plucked tea consists of tender, one-bud-two-leaf sets, carefully flattened using traditional hand-pressing techniques on mesh screens. Its signature long, straight, and flat leaves, often described as "two knives and one pole," are vibrant green with a lustrous sheen. Unlike machine-processed versions, this tea maintains its natural elegance and integrity, with each leaf showcasing distinct veins and an intricate texture.
The aroma is fresh, floral, and slightly orchid-like, with delicate vegetal and umami undertones. When brewed, it yields a pale jade-green liquor, remarkably clear and bright. The taste is smooth and layered, with a natural sweetness, a crisp orchid fragrance, and a lingering savory complexity. Its refreshing aftertaste leaves a cooling sensation in the throat, a signature trait of top-grade Tai Ping Hou Kui.
Sourced directly from Yanjia Village, this Tai Ping Hou Kui is a rare and exceptional example of traditional craftsmanship and regional excellence. A tea of remarkable elegance, it offers a truly refined experience for those seeking authentic and high-quality Anhui green tea.
