Ping Yang Huang Tang is one of the most famous yellow teas alongside Mengding Huangya, Junshan Yinzhen, and Huoshan Huang Ya. It is also one of the most famous teas from Zhejiang Province, mainly produced in Pingyang, Taishun, and Ruian. Among its many origins, it finds its zenith in Pingyang's Chaoyang Mountain, earning the name "Ping Yang Huang Tang.”
This tea boasts a history of more than 200 years, even making its mark as a tribute tea in the Qing Dynasty. In the 1980s, tea experts embarked on the task of resurrecting the traditional processing techniques of Ping Yang Huang Tang, breathing new life into this time-honored tea. Despite its recent resurgence, Ping Yang Huang Tang remains a rare find in the market, produced in limited quantities by a select few who dedicate themselves to its artistry.
Our offering is a top-grade Ping Yang Huang Tang from its heartland Chaoyang Mountain. The native tea trees grow at 500 meters above sea level and are over 80 years old. The leaves were harvested on March 29 before the Qingming solar term, with the plucking standard being one bud and one leaf.
The meticulous production process spans five days, encompassing plucking, withering, fixation, gentle rolling, initial drying, "Men Huang", additional drying, additional "Men Huang", and final drying. The result is a tea that embodies centuries of tradition and craftsmanship.
